Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is used by Polypet to manufacture our beverage bottles and food containers.
PET is glass-clear allowing the product inside to be the hero and attract attention on shelf.
PET's excellent gas barrier makes it ideal for carbonated beverage bottles, with high impact and tensile strength making it virtually unbreakable during production, storage and transportation.
The thin walls improve shelf utilisation and the light weight reduces shipping costs and carbon footprint.
Our procurement is governed by strict quality specifications and supplier selection which ensures consistency of our product and full traceability.
Our raw materials for food packaging are compliant with EU legislation and are organoleptically inert to prevent flavour and odour tainting, especially critical for vulnerable contents such as water and dairy products. Our finished food packaging is independently migration tested for food safety on a random basis.
We pay voluntary levies on our raw materials to actively contribute towards reducing packaging waste to landfill and to drive recycling initiatives which create jobs and protect our environment.
Polypet offers PET and recycled PET (rPET) options which are both food safe.
PET is highly recyclable. For facts about PET and Recycling click here.
All our packaging clearly indicates the PET polymer identification symbol for recycling.
